Garden Decor

What’s garden decor? Not the plants, but the actual decorations of course. It’s what makes your garden special, different from the others, pleasant, charming, funny even or anything else you want to turn it in.

Personally, the garden is my favorite place to be – I can relax there, my children play and take photos there, we take walks in it and entertain ourselves with the amazement of little things of nature. Let’s wander through it together for a while.

When we enter the garden our sight is immediately attracted to all the different colors, textures and plant combinations. Whether it’s a formal garden design or a cottage design, some additional pieces of architecture throughout the garden always amaze and contribute to the individuality of the place. The choice is big – bird baths, garden statues, seating areas and water features and simply everything you can think of for your garden style.

Another great and intriguing idea for garden decor, and especially for patio decor, is adding different types of containers. Again, unleash your imagination and come up with some stylish, interesting and original places to put some soil in and grow plants. Besides the classic flowerpots, you can use old kitchen odds and ends, discarded tubs and old logs with rotted out gnarled holes.

And why don’t you try some figures? A scare crow or garden gnome or animal figures are always eye-catching and fun. And the next time you feel like you are in need of a change and decide to move your furniture, rearrange your garden figures instead. Simple, fun and effective.

A very popular idea is the water garden. It doesn’t necessarily need to be big. In fact, it can be only a small part or element from your garden. Running water from a small fountain for example gives you a relaxing sensation. And it doesn’t even need to be expensive or complicated. A simple basin, full of water, attracts birds and any other kind of wildlife and this presents an especially picturesque view from your window or from a nearby bench.

And, speaking of benches, we must remember that every garden needs to be a place you enjoy spending time in and so, it needs some garden furniture. Anything from patio umbrella and seating area to a pergola does the trick of bringing even more comfort to your personal garden space, turning it in your ultimate relaxation spot.

A great post, very informative. A well decorated garden, with an equally stylish garden patio will add so much value to a property.

  2. Now is the time to mulch that garden! Don’t throw away your leaves! Rake those leaves into your garden and let them sit over the winter months.
